This tutorial shows how to show current Autopilot mode on Taranis LCD screen
Taranis is fully customizable and all switches, sliders and sticks may be used to control functions of Taranis. We use this ability to show on LCD screen current autopilot modes:
- Full manual (OFF)
- Manual with stabilization (STAB)
- Auto with throttle down (RTH)
- Auto with half throttle (HOLD)
- Auto with full throttle (CIRCLE)
Of course it do not cover all possible modes (like Routes, Landing, Takeoff) but for sure may help to ensure in which state should be system, e.g when pilot is away of TV monitor.
For this purpose we define and use flight modes feature. Each flight mode has its own name, and we define 5 flight modes controlled by Autopilot mode switch and throttle level.
Here is sample configuration file with this settings:

Open this file in OpenTx application and then look at particular settings, and then make similar changes in your settings.
Note: Before any modification in your transmitter settings make your own setup backup.
