Assembling Antenna tracker

This tutorial shows how to assemble tracking antenna.

Note: This antenna requires servos with 180 degree rotation, e.g HK12K from Hobby King or HITEC 645MG.
Other servos like BlueBird 990MG+HK should be modified to obtain full 180 degree rotation.  Refer to this tutorial how to modify this servo.

We recommend use of strong servo with metal gear to achieve good speed and precision of positioning.

Antenna tracker consists ot 3 main parts which should be mounted separately then mounted  together.

First put all nuts to its places in all elements. Use pillers or small hammer.

Mount servo arm to dedicated plate.  You may need to drill appropriate 3mm holes to fit screws

Assemble first part of antenna puttings elements to dedicated sockets.

Fix screws on opposite side

Note: servo arm should be mounted on the inner side!

Next collect items for second part:

Put  items together and fix it with srews

Finally put upper plate and fix it

Put servo to its place and fix with small screws from servo kit.

It’s time for last part

Put  together 3 items from picture above

Mound another servo arm and put these items together

Mount parts together

Similar way mount last items left, and mount it together

Insert servo and fix with small screws

Now mount ball bearings on its places and fix parts with long screws
